On October 24th, 2013- Baroness Kimberly Moore was recognized by C5LA at a beautiful gala held at SLS Hotel, Beverly Hills for her humanitarian efforts and Adopt A Letter program after making dreams come true for over 25,000 children living in some of the most impoverished areas in Los Angeles. Moore’s award was presented by John Alm, founder of C5LA (former CEO of Coca Cola Enterprises) and Greg Kovacs, executive director of C5LA. Moore says, “It’s a great honor to be recognized by another charity like C5LA who is doing amazing work in the community. I am a big believer in forming partnerships with other non-profits who share the same mission in order to create an even greater impact!”.
The Kimberly Moore Foundation and C5LA have decided to combine efforts to help ensure a better future for our teens, help them to graduate and prepare them for leadership roles in college, work and community! C5LA students will now have the opportunity to pay if forward and participate as volunteers for the Adopt A Letter program during the Christmas holidays and year around, answering letters and delivering hope to underprivileged children in the community and become Hope Ambassadors of the program. At the same time, selected Adopt A Letter kids will also have the opportunity to join C5LA’s 5 year program.
Our mission is to inspire high-potential youth from risk-filled environments in LA County to pursue personal success, to prepare them for leadership roles in college, work and community, and to motivate them to become role models for others. We do this by engaging middle and high school students from under resourced communities in five years of intensive leadership experiences including year-round leadership development & support programs and signature summer activities that include, High Adventure Leadership Camps, College Preparatory & Career Community Advocacy & Service Learning Experiences.
